Anti-Litter Campaign

Anti-Litter CampaignThe City of Hogansville is a wonderful place to live, work, play, and visit. While we have much to be proud of, litter—like in many communities across America—can still be found along city streets and local waterways.

Statewide, more than $16 million is spent annually removing litter from Georgia roads. These taxpayer dollars could instead support schools, parks, and other essential community services. Litter prevention is a shared responsibility, and everyone can play a role in keeping Hogansville clean and beautiful.

What Can I Do?

Adopt-A-Street Program

The City of Hogansville is excited to offer a volunteer-based Adopt-A-Street Program. This program allows residents, businesses, and community groups to take pride in keeping a designated street or section of roadway litter-free.

How it works:

  • Complete an application

  • Select a street (or portion of a street) within the city limits

  • Pick up your starter kit

  • Collect litter along your adopted street on a monthly basis

Online applications can be found HERE.
Paper applications are also available at Hogansville City Hall, located at
111 High Street, Hogansville, GA 30230.

With your help, we can keep Hogansville’s streets clean, welcoming, and attractive for residents and visitors alike.

Adopt-A-Highway

The GDOT Adopt-A-Highway Program is always looking for businesses, neighborhoods, churches, and civic organizations to adopt sections of roadway along state highways. This program complements local efforts by addressing litter along major corridors.

Secure Your Load

Unsecured loads are a major source of roadside litter. Items carried in open truck beds can easily become airborne due to speed, wind, and uneven road conditions.

To prevent litter:

  • Do not rely on the weight of items to keep them in place

  • Consider using a truck bed cover

  • Secure all trash or recyclables in sturdy bags

  • Use tarps or cargo netting when hauling material
