    ACCOUNTANT 1 
    DEPARTMENT: Finance/Accounting
    REPORTS TO: Finance Director
    Salary Range: $46,800 - $49,520 per year
     
    Job Summary:
    The Accountant I provides clerical and administrative support to the Finance Department by performing avariety of accounting and bookkeeping tasks. Responsibilities include reviewing accounts payable andreceivable, assisting with payroll, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate financial records. TheAccountant I plays a vital role in supporting the city’s financial operations and ensuring compliance withapplicable policies and procedures. 
     
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelors degree in finance and or accounting. Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a government setting.
    • A comparable amount to education, training, and experience may be submitted for the minimumrequirements
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Working knowledge of basic governmental accounting principles and procedures.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, TylerTechnologies, Munis, or similar).
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Street Department - Maintenance Worker 1  
    DEPARTMENT: PUBLIC WORKS 
    Starting Pay: $18.00 per hour 
     
    The City of Hogansville has immediate openings for Street Department Maintenance Worker 1. This is an entry-level manual labor position in the performance, operation, and maintenance of the City of Hogansville's streets. This includes litter pickup, weed eating, and grass cutting along rights-of-way, and other assignments as directed. Some assignments may include the use of hand tools, power tools, and the operation of small equipment.  
     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (The following standards express the minimum background of training and experience DESIRABLE as evidence of an applicant's ability to qualify for this job title. Other training or experience, if evaluated as equivalent, may qualify an applicant for a job of this title)

    • Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
    • Possession of a valid Georgia Driver's License.
    • Must be physically able to perform duties in this job classification.

    DEPARTMENT: CODE ENFORCEMENT 
    REPORTS TO: CODE ENFORCEMENT CAPTAIN 
    STARTING PAY: $21.50 per hour 

    The code enforcement/ animal control officer(s) are tasked with identifying, investigating and prosecuting code violations. These code enforcement officers are to follow the established accountability procedures to ensure that all contacts related to code infractions are properly documented.
     
    QUALIFICATIONS
    Graduation from a standard high school or GED
    Valid Driver's License (Class C) 
    Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing (including spelling, grammar, and punctuation).
    Knowledge of city ordinances and state laws regarding all aspects of animal control.
    Ability to work for extended periods of time, occasionally in adverse weather conditions.
